Website Ethics / Terms-of-Use Foundation
Core principle:
> It allows room to be, and asks nothing more.
The site must function as a threshold, not an extractive platform.
It should not:
- force meaning
- demand that visitors "get it" correctly
- exploit vulnerability
- rank suffering or insight
- require usefulness
- turn fragility into content
- reduce people
- extract from people
- control their meaning
Contribution ethics
Contributions should be consent-based.
Collaborators should know:
- where their work appears
- how they are credited
- whether it can be removed
- what rights they keep
Core albums stay protected as the intentional arc. Fragments remain the open collaborative field.
Tolerance boundary
Room to be does not mean room to harm.
CTE makes room for:
- otherness
- disagreement
- difficult lived experience
- confusion
- fear
- grief
- anger
- contradiction
CTE does not make room for:
- abuse
- domination
- dehumanization
- harassment
- exploitation
- coercion
- cruelty
- hate
- calls for harm
Key line:
> CTE allows room to be, but not room to erase the being of others.
Terms-style language:
> This space welcomes difference, disagreement, and difficult lived experience. It does not welcome dehumanization, harassment, exploitation, hate, coercion, or attempts to deny others the same room to exist that this space offers you.
